Thornton Oil Corporation – Project Director oversees environmental compliance, UST removals, site
investigations, and remediation on approximately 50 sites in KY, IL, OH, TX, and CT.
Chevron, Inc. – Project Manager responsible for directing UST removals, site investigations, and corrective
action on approximately 25 sites in KY, IN, and OH.
Speedway SuperAmerica LLC (Emro Marketing) – Project Manager responsible for UST removals, site
investigations, and corrective action on approximately 40 sites in KY.
Dairy Mart – Project Manager responsible for directing UST compliance and remediation on approximately 30
sites in KY and IN.
BP Oil – Project Manager responsible for UST removals, site investigations and remediation on approximately
25 sites in KY and TN.
Ashland Petroleum Company – Project Manager responsible for directing UST removals, site investigations,
and corrective action on approximately 30 sites in KY.
Responsible for coal mine exploration and permitting activities. Supervised drilling crew’s activities in
Kentucky and Tennessee. Duties included design and implementation of exploration programs, maintaining
geologic database, preparation of reserve reports, pre-mining inventory and evaluation of aquifers, design and
implementation of groundwater and surface water monitoring programs, and management of various environmental
concerns.
Responsible for assimilation of pre-mining data for small coal mine operator permits in Eastern and Western
Kentucky. Supervised monitoring well installations and coal prospecting.
Mr. Sweet has accrued 25 years
experience in the consulting field, with 20
years of extensive experience working with
contaminated sites. He has performed
many environmental assessments and
prepared numerous remedial action plans
on a variety of sites for private and
corporate clients, including several major
oil companies.
At Shield, Mr. Sweet serves as manager of
the UST department where he supervises
a staff of 10 project managers. His broad
background includes environmental
consulting, surveying, and performing
complex remediation. In addition, his
experience includes technical problem
solving, project bidding, estimating,
contractual negotiations, and has an
excellent reputation within the regulatory
and financial reimbursement communities.
